At Aegean College we start helping you plan your career from the start. The career development centre is charged with keeping close links with the job market.
Our Career Services can help you find full-time or part-time employment as well as give you advice on C.V. formulation and interviewing skills. It is also an important source for job vacancies either directly from employers or employment agencies.
Each year, the Career Development Centre arranges for guest speaker to address students. At Aegean College, it is our belief that students should have every opportunity to learn from leading industry experts.
Career development has lead to students and graduates receiving offers in both national and multi-national organizations. To name only a few: Alphabank, Microsoft, Peugeot, Kawasaki, Esperia Palace, IBM, Siemens, Citibank, Vodafone, Henkel, Chevrolet Hellas, L’Oreal, Interamerican, Nissan, Eurobank, Xerox, Hewlett Packard, Hellenic Petroleum, etc.
Interview Protocol and Skills
Since our ultimate aim is not only to ensure that you are equipped with the academic knowledge required to excel in the marketplace but also, to provide you with interview protocol and interviewing skills that will best highlight the academic knowledge received during your College attendance. To this end, every Spring, we arrange an interviewing skills development seminar. The seminar is often conducted by Greek HRM professionals.
Our Spring "interviewing skills" seminar is offered free of charge and covers the following areas:
• How to write proper CV's and cover letters
• The aims of company interviews from both an employer and employee perspective
• Interviewing procedures and techniques (i.e.: Hooking Technique)
• Self-analysis advice on types of career paths best suited to individual student personalities
The Aegean College co-ordinator for the Interview skills seminar is Mrs. Chrysanthi Andronoglou, in the capacity of Career Development Officer.
The Jobshop helps both attending and graduating students of the College find full-time or part-time employment in the industry of your preference, often times concurrently with your studies. Such an endeavour is characterised by the following threefold benefits:
• Helps alleviate increasing financial hardship
• Enhances awareness of the benefits of work experience as a necessary part of your own personal development and preparation for employment after graduation.
• Maintains market awareness of Aegean College graduates as potential employee candidates.
The Jobshop at Aegean College receives details of vacancies either directly from employers, mostly in Athens, or from advertisers and agencies. An important source of information on various professional vacancies is the part-time tutor body of Aegean College; part-time tutors of the College being established professionals with extensive contacts in the industry.
Secondly, the jobshop in co-operation with the library have put forth a programme of developing a comprehensive database of company information, such as annual reports etc. It is our hope that this database will complement your career development efforts by making company information more easily accessible to you.
