The successful conference entitled “1st interdisciplinary conference on special education and special treatments” was held by the Faculty of Health and Social-Humanitarian Sciences of Aegean College on May 5th and 6th, 2018 at the premises of the College (Panepistimiou 17, Athens).
Hundreds professionals specialized in special education, mental health and paramedical professions as well as college students and technical institutes have expressed great interest and attended the Conference either in person at the College or via the channel of Aegean College on YouTube.
The Conference was honoured by the presence of distinguished scientists from Greece and abroad, one of them being Mr. Apostolos Bourdas (MRCPsych, CCST – doctor of Medicine School of Athens – child and adolescent Psychiatrist – member of the Scientific Committee of ADHD Hellas), Dr. Joanne Opie (Learning support co-ordinator Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Coventry University) and Dr. Catherine Meehan (Head of School of Education, Canterbury Christ Church University).
Important issues were analysed by the supervisors of the Health Faculty and Human Sciences of the College:
- Afantenoy Katerina MSc Phdc – Academic Head of the Speech Therapy Faculty.
- Polymeri Kiriaki – Academic Head of Psychology Faculty.
- Dr. Spei Phoebe – Academic Head of the Occupational Therapy Faculty.
- Sotiropoulos Spyros MSc – Academic Head of Physiotherapy Faculty.
